The City of Edmonton is a world leader in using analytics to improve the lives of its citizens. The Analytics Centre of Excellence (ACE) assists the City in understanding and leveraging analytics to improve outcomes for staff and citizens. ACE provides leadership, best practices, research, support, and training for analytics across the City. They encourage the use of data by providing a central, consolidated resource for City staff and citizens to collaborate, share methodologies and gain analytical knowledge.
Open Analytics showcases some of the exciting work ACE is doing with Open Data. It also provides tools and resources to empower citizens to work with data themselves to gain their own insights into City data.
What is Analytics?
Analytics is the process of collecting and analyzing data to make decisions. For the City of Edmonton, in particular, it means using data analysis to help improve services and inform policy.
